Where the Art Happens (and Why It’s Usually the Comfy Couch)

When people ask where we make our art, I usually laugh. There’s no fancy studio here. Most of what you’ll find in our shop started on the comfy couch in our living room, the same spot where we watch movies, fold laundry, cuddle the dogs, and argue about whose turn it is to pick the show. Welcome to our living room art studio.

That’s kind of the point. In a house this full, art doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. It happens in the in-between moments: curled up after dinner, on a slow Sunday morning, or late at night when the house finally goes quiet.

Color is how we tell the story

If you’ve seen our pieces, you know we love color. Bright, bold, a little bit chaotic, just like this family. Every color we pick comes from somewhere: a sunset on the road, a favorite mug, the wildflowers along a highway we didn’t plan to take.

Everyone leaves a mark

Not every piece is a solo project. Sometimes one person starts something and someone else adds to it. Sometimes a “mistake” ends up being the best part. We’ve learned to leave room for that.

What’s coming to The Art Table

This corner of the blog is where we’ll share:

  • The story behind new pieces before they hit the shop

  • Works in progress, the messy middle included

  • The places and moments that inspired them

  • The occasional art project gone hilariously wrong

So grab a blanket and get comfy. Just watch out for the markers between the cushions.
